Following the “Hot [Boy]” artist release, many celebrities and fans took to social media to welcome him home. Among them was Chris Brown, who shouted out Shmurda in an Instagram Story, writing, “Shmurda home king of New York [stuff]!! Big Blood but I salute a real LOC.”
Meek Mill also acknowledged the rapper on Twitter, writing, “Bobby back… we needed that.”
Shmurda, born Ackquille Jean Pollard, was released from prison on Tuesday after serving six years of a seven-year sentence for conspiracy and possession of a weapon. The 26-year-old was picked up from the New York Clinton Correctional Facility in a private jet by Quavo and welcomed home by Offset, Rowdy Rebel, Fetty Luciano and more.
He also had a sweet conversation with his mother, Leslie Pollard, via FaceTime video.
“Oh my goodness, look at my baby,” Pollard said to her son. “What’s up baby boy. I miss you! I cannot wait to kiss you. I love you!”
