Scott Dudelson/Getty Images for Coachella Buffalo rapper Westside Gunn taps Smoke DZA and Wale for his new single, “The Hurt Business.”
The track is named after the WWE pro wrestling team that includes Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP),Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley and Cedric Alexander. Gunn opens the track with vicious bars that set the tone for Smoke’s electrifying lyrics, before the D.C. emcee moves in with his double entendres.
“Folarin is back, I tried to keep my dawg out the trap,” raps Wale. “He say he gotta work like The Rock like Kevin Hart/It’s hard to be great and honestly way harder when Black/And I feel like Jake, rob us, boy, slimin’ is back, for real.”
“The Hurt Business” will be featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming film, Conflicted — the first film under Gunn’s Griselda Record Label. The soundtrack drops Friday, boasting features from fellow New York rappers such as Lloyd Banks, Dave East, newcomer Armani Caesar and more, as well as Benny The Butcher‘s single, “3:30 in Houston.”
As the CEO of Black Soprano Family Records, Benny also serves as executive producer of Conflicted, which will be released via pay-per-view on January 15.
